About Darryl Lockett
With a passion to combat disparities, I have sought to cultivate a broad, intersectional sympathy to the plight of those who struggle to see equality in society, whether that be on the basis of their age, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. Over my educational and professional career, I have developed a knowledge of the needed elements of a diverse, equitable and inclusive leadership strategy: diverse delivery systems; community reinvestment; cultural competence and an understanding of social and cross-cultural issues; and policy advocacy and thought leadership. Additionally, I have come to better understand the factors limiting the public sector’s impact, the opportunities presented in the private sector, and the value of philanthropy in overcoming shortcomings in meeting unmet needs and addressing inequities in society.
