About Darryl Buikema

Partner and practice leader of KPMG’s Chicago health care audit practice with over 30 years of experience with health care and not-for-profit clients. Extensive experience with audit, accounting and reporting issues specific to health care organizations. Experience includes providing professional audit services to healthcare systems, hospitals, physician practices, nursing homes and long-term care facilities, associations, and housing providers of both not-for-profit and for-profit clientele. Audit and advisory experience includes the performance of audits of internal control over financial reporting in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements; assistance with public and private filings; internal control reviews; and OMB Circular A-133 compliance reporting requirements. KPMG responsibilities include serving as the practice leader, human resource partner, and people management leader for the health care audit practice, performing internal and external reviews in the quality performance review and peer review programs, serving as a pension and OMB Circular A-133 technical resource partner, and developing health care specific training curriculums utilized for internal and external training programs.
