About Darrian Stringer
My name is Darrian Stringer and I currently serve as the Interfraternity Coordinator at Mississippi State University. I began this role in May of 2024 and have been a higher education professional for the last two years. Previously I worked as a chapter consultant for The Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity. I oversaw 16 chapters in the Northwest and Great Plains, assisted 9 chapters in recruitment efforts, and finally established our provisional chapter at Pepperdine University. In 2023 I received my bachelor\'s degree in journalism with a focus in broadcast from the University of South Alabama. During my time as an Intern at WKRG Channel Five News in Mobile, Alabama I learned all the necessary skills to excel as an anchor, reporter, MMJ, or sports reporter. My experience before becoming a chapter consultant taught me valuable skills such as how to interview someone efficiently, edit and produce using Adobe Premiere Pro, serve as on-air talent, write scripts for the afternoon sports segment, and put together PKGs and SOTs. Although becoming a sports reporter is my ultimate goal, I am also open to working in higher education potentially as a director, coordinator, or assistant director role within Greek Life at a respected university. Both of these passions have combined to give me the best skills possible to be successful in both endeavors and I look forward to what the future holds after this current role.
