During summer at Pike Industries I spent my time working with the quality control department. This included a variety of tasks to ensure that we were delivering the best product to our customers, whether that be the state, towns, or private companies. My tasks on the road included inspecting the road for flaws, and using a Pavement Quality Indicator to check compaction and direct rollers. At the lab, I ran a variety of tests on mix and aggregates to ensure that they met our specs. I was also responsible for helping design new mixtures of pavement to conform to changing material properties and state regulations. I also spent time running a variety of equipment including skid steers, pavement rollers, loaders, and more.
