ABOUT DARREN GRIFFIN

I am a Tax Director leading the NW innovation reliefs team as part of our national innovation and capital tax reliefs practice. I help clients identify qualifying R&D activities and expenditure, help to maximise claims, and communicate effectively with HMRC to secure tax savings and cash repayments, whilst working to mitigate client’s risk of HMRC scrutiny. I have a proven track record of making successful claims, and defending them, across various sectors. I also have a number of clients that benefit from the patent box regime.I have also worked across audit, accounting, and corporate tax prior to specialising in IR, which complements my innovation reliefs specialism.I also lead the NW media and technology industry group, working closely with our national team, to implement our national go-to market strategy as well as providing key insights into the sector. I develop key relationships with media and technology organisations which align with our national strategy, and look to bring events which are topical, add value, and provide economic insight.Additionally, I am an active member of the national health and life science industry group, working closely with organisations like Bionow to support their annual awards and conferences.As an Embrace champion, I am committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within our firm.
