ABOUT DARREN P. ONEILL
Although certainly the \'road less traveled\', my circuitous educational and career journey has undoubtedly served as one of my core strengths throughout life - exposing me to a wide diversity of thought and opportunities to collaborate with uniquely talented colleagues in engineering, business, and healthcare, as well as equipping me with a unique perspective on leadership, professionalism, and success.Graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1995 (B.S. Electrical Engineering; Summa Cum Laude) granted me the educational skillset and confidence to match the driven mindset that my family and small-town upbringing instilled in me. After graduation, I worked for 2 years in a unique role as Technical Operations Research Associate at ZS Associates in Evanston, IL where business strategy; client relationship building; effective communication; and teamwork were essential elements of success. After completing medical school at Medical College of Wisconsin (19••••01) and diagnostic radiology residency (20••••06) and neuroradiology fellowship (20••••07) at Indiana University (IU); I had the privilege of continuing as a faculty member within the Neuroradiology section at IU. I earned a reputation for delivering excellence in clinical service, while making valuable contributions in education and scholarship, promoted to serve as the Section Chief of Neuroradiology in 2011.In February 2017, I was recruited into a leadership position as Medical Director – Community Hospital Division at Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and was subsequently promoted to Radiology Vice-Chair of Clinical Operations, Diagnostic Imaging Services in 2019. Additionally, I currently serve as RAYUS Radiology Medical Director locally and RAYUS Radiology National Physician Operations Council member nationally. Surrounded by fantastic colleagues, I openly promote team successes in lieu of individual accolades. I routinely advocate for measures that accentuate the true strength of the organization - the talented people - and actively champion collaborative, accountable, patient-centered quality care. While balancing clinical, educational, and administrative roles, I strive to be a servant leader and determine what each individual needs to perform optimally and achieve high-quality results. I whole-heartedly consider my success as a leader to reflect the development and contributions of a highly collaborative and cohesive TEAM.
