ABOUT DARREN K.
Darren is a NYS licensed physician assistant specialized in cardiac/cardiothoracic critical care. He has experience from multiple ICUs across the New York Metro/Long Island including NYU Langone Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Cornell, NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia, Hospital for Special Surgery, St. Francis Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital and North Shore University Hospital. He is currently full time in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at NYU Langone\'s main campus managing shock, mechanical support devices, and pre-post heart transplantation patients. He is proficient in central lines, arterial lines, pigtail catheters, TVP/swan insertions, paras/thoras and in managing IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO with experience in bedside IABP insertions and intubations. Darren is passionate about clinical education for physician assistants. He has taken the SIM instructor training at New York Simulation Center (NYSIM) in order to broaden his approach to clinical teaching. He strives to become more inundated with critical care in order to train and nurture aspiring and current critical care PAs. He was the former Co-Chair of the PA Council at NYU Langone Health in 2023.
