ABOUT DARREN GODDARD

I have 32 years of dragline maintenance experience in the mining industry. Through my years of experience, I have had the opportunity to work on some of the largest and smallest machines in the industry. I have spent many years as a mechanic/welder and Planner/ Supervisor on the coal side working hands-on and overseeing every size of projects on Drills, Draglines, and Shovels, as well as rolling stock equipment. In my role as Maintenance Projects Manager I am happy and excited to have the oversight of 30+ draglines of all makes and models anywhere from a Manitowoc 4600 to a Marion 8200. My planning team of five and myself are challenged with Putting realistic COP/AOP budgets together based on condition and hours. With this many draglines it is a very lengthy and thorough process. Oversight of all dragline outage project planning and outage execution to make sure dragline outage budgets and deadlines are met. Managing the PM process, implementing new systems and staffing. Prioritizing the day to day maintenance issues that arise. Manage the oversight of the PM/Inspection/Outage Crew. The challenges within this role are fun, exciting and aggravating at times. To me those are all signs of personal growth and if your not growing your not getting better. Always be willing to grow!
