I am a communications specialist, and creator and owner of communications industry resource and community, comms2point0, and Creative Communicators Ltd. My 29-year career in communications marketing and PR began at the Euro 96 football tournament and includes 10 years as Head of Communications within local government, a director level role in the NHS and five years in private sector marketing. A graduate in PR, I\'m a multiple award-winner, and twice named in the prestigious \'Digital Leaders 100\'. comms2point0 was named \'Highly Commended\' in Vuelio\'s PR and Communications Online Influence Awards in Nov 2020 and 3rd in Vuelio\'s Top 10 UK PR blog site in 2023 and 2024 I have hosted and spoken at more than 200 events across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, on integrating social media for business, building communications and engagement strategies, and communicating in a digital world. I created the communications strategy for the multi award-winning Come Back to Nursing campaign, which attracted over 1,500 nurses back to the profession and saving the NHS £90million in the process. The campaign pulled off ‘Best Social Media Campaign’ at the UK Public Sector Communications Awards amongst others. I have worked with almost 200 organisations on everything from developing effective comms strategies, supercharged social media, powered-up podcasts, and how to engage with young people. I support in-house comms teams and individuals with strategic communications consultancy and tailored training and development. I also deliver skills workshops, themed masterclasses and the highly popular annual UnAwards. I am a mentor to many communications managers in the UK. I\'m an associate with the Local Government Association and an associate member of LGcomms. I am also an accredited mental health first aider.
