Standing in the jungle surrounded by his entire community, the head of the World Bank Delegation asked the village leader,\"What do YOU want?\" His response rings in my ears 30 years later.\"I want electricity, I want a BETTER LIFE for my family.\" Electricity or gas probably heats the water for your shower (I now use a Heat Pump water heater that saves me about $40/month off my electric bill). Electricity keeps most \"iceboxes\" chilled and I was raised on the slogan \"cooking with gas\"(but now I cook with magnets/induction). A storm occasionally disrupts the electric supply to these modern electrical \"necessities\" but for the most part, my family only thinks about electricity if we don\'t have it. I however love electricity and think about it all the time!Note: I also still enjoy NOT USING electricity.a candlelight dinner, an evening camp fire.can you smell the mesquite coals under my BBQ - Old School energy - Fire. And yes, I\'m that dad that tells his kids to turn the lights off and constantly tracks the monthly electric consumption - partially because I\'m cheap, partially because I was raised not to waste resources and mostly because of friends like Tommy who died defending a foreign oil field.
