ABOUT DARREN B.
A passionate and pragmatic ED & I professional with more than 13 years experience championing social value and delivering and implementing inclusive policies, guidelines and practices. In particular, I specialise in the recruitment and retention of prison leavers, those with convictions, veterans, care experienced, refugees, those who are neurodiverse along with others who face barriers to employment. I have extensive experience in fostering relationships with external stakeholders including HMPPS, the Ministry of Justice/ New Futures Network and other organisations such as Police, DWP and numerous third sector organisations. An accomplished public speaker, I deliver sessions to Criminal Justice professionals, HR professionals and any other social value orientated individuals or organisations. I also provide consultancy services for like minded National and International organisations and help to educate and advise others as to the benefits of engaging with marginalised groups, discussing practicalities and advice regarding strategies and risk assessment. I am a Retail Ambassador for the New Futures Network, Commissioner for the City & Guilds Future Skills Commission for Prisons and I sit on the Employers’ Forum for Reducing Reoffending Leadership Committee. Between 20••••25, I studied and obtained a Masters degree in Applied Criminology, Penology and Management at the University of Cambridge.
