The Department of Community Services is Honolulu\'s primary municipal agency responsible for caring for the most vulnerable of our community, our homeless, our keiki and our kupuna on the island of O\'ahu. Our mission to assist our neighbors in greatest need has become even more critical in light of recent emergency declarations on homelessness and on pandemic response, mitigation and assistance.Day-to-day management and long range planning of Division- Assist in the planning, solicitation, review, ranking and recommendations for funding awards of affordable housing and human services projects for the island of O\'ahu using Federal, State and City funding sources, to include $32 million+ of CARES Act Emergency Solution Grants (ESG), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDs (HOPWA), and Coronavirus Relief (CRF) funds- Manage government, community and public communication and outreach efforts related to the Community Based Development Division and the Department- Manage and guide staff of 18 (21 FTE)- Responsible for coordinating and implementing special projects as assigned.
