About Darrell J. Whiteley
I am a Partner at Lewis Brisbois and Vice-Chair of the firm\'s national construction practice group and the leader of four litigation teams in New York and 28 remarkable attorneys defending high exposure general liability cases. We have significant experience defending New York\'s most successful contractors, owners and developers on the tower projects that are redefining the New York City skyline.Our clients also include New York\'s largest public sector infrastructure projects including the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation following 9/11, the Second Avenue Subway, the East Side Access Tunnel, both New York City airports, and the New York City School Construction Authority facing claims under the New York Labor Law. We have also defended private sector clients in the Con Edison Steam Pipe Explosion case in Midtown Manhattan, the Black Sunday Fire in the Bronx, the Tribeca Crane Collapse, and the Harlem Gas Explosion among other tragic events. Other areas of practice include power plant explosions, highway, bridge and tunnel construction, premises liability, transportation and trucking, products liability involving construction equipment, medical malpractice, and marine liability.I have served twice as Co-Chair for for an international consortium of law firms specializing in construction litigation, and have extensive trial experience in both New York State and Federal Courts.I have lectured frequently on site safety, construction technology, pre-construction planning, post-accident investigation, defending union and non-union economic damage claims, and trial preparation.
