ABOUT DARREL FONTENOT

I am currently a Director of Advanced Analytics with AT & T, where I provide analysis and support to our Mobility and Entertainment Strategy & Operations team. I started my career with AT & T as a sales representative in a mall food court kiosk and worked my way through retail leadership positions until moving to Atlanta to manage compensation for the Southeast Region. It was in this position that I found a passion for data analytics. I later moved into an analytics position with our online (Digital Experience) group, analyzing customer activity on our website. I held various different analytics positions before moving to my current role. AT & T has given me the opportunity to grow my experience in SQL (PostgreSQL), Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Using SQL, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…, I am able to provide quick ad-hoc analysis when leadership has an immediate need to make strategic decisions. However, often it is more beneficial to build a more comprehensive and interactive tool… This is where I take advantage of Tableau and Power BI. I’ve recently started to dabble in a few other tools (SAS, Alteryx, R, & Python), although I still have lots to learn. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix (Online). Prior to this, I completed my Associate’s Degree in Computer Information Technology from McNeese State University (Louisiana).
