ABOUT DARLINE JEAN
I’m a member of the executive leadership team for the $30 billion Google Network, which is comprised of the Ad Manager, AdMob, and AdSense platforms. In this role, I lead platform demand strategy and develop and manage a sales team that works with ad agencies to drive significant new revenue to digital content publishers via the platforms. Before joining Google, I held Chief Operating Officer roles with two programmatic advertising and marketing companies, PulsePoint (a platform acquired by WebMD) and Matterkind (a solutions provider owned by IPG, a global Big 5 ad agency). At PulsePoint, I worked closely with executive leadership team colleagues and the Board to grow revenue from $30 million to $100 million in three years. At Matterkind, I managed global client relationships and led global operations, including directing a merger and a transformation program that delivered significant cost savings. Beyond advertising technology, I have an extensive background in digital media. I was the first Chief Digital Officer at VC-owned ESSENCE Communications and CEO of the About Group (About.com), a former New York Times subsidiary. At ESSENCE, I led the company’s transformation from print to digital media and played a critical role in growing the brand from one million subscribers to 20 million annual users. At $100+ million About, I held Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Chief Financial Officer roles. As CEO, I had full P&L accountability, led a turnaround, delivered double-digit growth, and increased the company’s 9-figure valuation by 50 percent. I was also a member of the New York Times executive leadership team and regularly presented to the New York Times Board.Earlier in my career, I held progressively responsible finance and accounting roles with the privately held Thomson Media Group. As a business leader and mother of two, I am an innovative thinker who anticipates future trends. This drives my passion for the future of healthcare, particularly through the evolution of biotech and all aspects of sustainability.Email: D••••••••@gmail.com
