As a cyber security consultant, my main role is to work with project teams helping them to design solutions that meet security requirements. Typically this will involve reviewing design documents, providing guidance as well as evaluating any new technologies that they may be looking to use.• Work with IT and Security to understand the roadmap and identify the most appropriate controls/strategy to fit future landscape.• Completing security assessment statements for services to document the full view of the risks surrounding it.• Scope, organise and facilitate penetration tests (using third party to do actual test).• Run and assess product security assessments.• Help with the evaluation of security responses and recommend actions to the project team.• Work with the project teams at each stage to ensure security built in correctly before going live.• Security Review of all changes presented to CAB, highlighting into Cyber Security any remaining risks • Put together a project security architecture for each project that meets the core standards• Identify remediations and work closely with the project teams to get them implemented• Complete a BIA, including identifying clearly any linked systems• Prepare Security documentation for handover at project endo Including a definition of required annual testing process, and preparing an annual scope beyond the project with an estimated cost• Run and assess supplier security assessments during procurement process• Help with the security inclusion in RFPs and tenders• Run and assess product security assessments• Help with the evaluation of security responses, and recommend actions to the project team• Help the teams design practical solutions that meet security requirements within their project technologies• Work with the project teams at each stage to ensure security built in correctly at the appropriate time

ABOUT DARIUSH TAILOR
Currently working as a Cyber Security Consultant. Working with clients and delivery teams to help shape the future of the IT landscape. Previously, I have worked as a Network Engineer, covering everything from configuring firewalls and switches to supporting the device and troubleshooting issues. Before that my role was as a Test Analyst on the FC BISA project. This involved working in a challenging and successful environment within the UK Defence Sector. I started my career at CGI as a Solution Analyst on the largest defence information infrastructure rollout in Europe, part of the ATLAS Consortium. I have completed my CISSP qualification as well as both CCNA Security (2018) and CCNA Routing and Switching (2017) and this has increased my interest in exploring the security aspect in greater depth. I hold a Masters in Computing, IT Law and Management with a wide range of skills encompassing technical, communication, people & soft skills and excellent commercial awareness.
