About Darin Dahms
Darin is an Actor, Writer, and Director for the Theatre currently living in Los Angeles, California. Darin directed Women of Manhattan and Cat\'s Paw for the Actor\'s Studio, under Executive Producers, Martin Landau and Mark Rydell. He also directed Alceste at Theatre of Note, which was named by one theatre critic one of the top 10 best productions of 2012 in their year end review. His greatest directorial achievement was the production of Butterflies of Uganda, which he also co-wrote with longtime friend Soenke Weiss. In 2005, Darin and Soenke travelled together to Northern Uganda where they interviewed children who had been abducted by the Lord\'s Resistance Army. These interviews were transformed into the play which received it\'s World Premiere at Greenway Court Theatre in 2007. The production was nominated for 6 awards at the 17th Anuual NAACP Theatre Awards. It won for Best Production and Darin took away Best Director, local. Recently, Darin wrote and performed a one-man play titled THE PLAYER KING inspired by the lives of Edwin Booth, John Wilkes Booth, and their father, Junius Brutus Booth. The show performed at Son of Semele Theatre, The MET Theatre, and Sierra Madre Playhouse, as well as several theatres in the Midwest. The play and performance were met with resounding critical acclaim. After seeing over 63 productions at the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival, theatre critic Earnest Kearney honored Darin with Best Performance by an Actor in his end of festival review. Darin is also a teacher and a private acting coach.
