About Daren Campbell

Based in Washington, DC I am a partner of EY and the leader of EY Americas Tax Technology and Transformation practice. Tax Technology and Transformation is a team of transformation strategists and technology professionals dedicated to helping organizations digitally transform their tax and finance function and realize long term value. I have been a partner in Tax since 2008. I\'ve been a partner with EY Americas Tax Technology and Transformation team since 2018. I work closely with our EY Advanced Technology Tax Lab. I was the EY Americas Tax Technology and Data Analytics Leader from 2012 – 2017. I helped that group grow from 30 people to over 350 across the Americas. During this time, I worked with EY’s global leadership team to create the Tax Technology and Transformation group. A group of more than 1,500 tax technology and performance improvement professionals that help organizations to redefine their tax functions and drive transformation for the digital age.I am passionate about emerging technologies, problem solving and the human element of the digital age. In addition to building focused tax technology teams, I have also helped design curriculum and learning opportunities to improve the technology skills of our core tax professionals to help them evolve their skills to meet the demands of the digital age. I worked with a global team on the development and launch of EY Badges a program that will enable people to invest in their own careers by earning digital credentials in skills that differentiate them in the market. I have been involved with the newly launched Day One Ready program, which prepares students for today’s real business world and connects them to potential internship opportunities. I am proud to have joined EY as an intern in 1997. My initial focus was research credits and cost segregation projects. The data challenges of these projects allowed me to utilize my experience and interest in programming and technology which set me on the path for a fulfilling career in tax technology.
