About Darelle Mitchell

Having grown up playing hockey since the age of 4, and played competitive Junior A, and Senior hockey, and refereed at the highest level (level 6 official) in BCHL (BC Junior A Hockey league), Canadian University (CIAU) and WHL (Western Hockey League – Major Junior CHL) for 9 years; hockey is a very close to my heart. My love for hockey was inherited by my son, Preston. Once he was old enough to skate, my interest in hockey changed from playing and refereeing, to supporting my son and coaching; which became my new passion. I found it incredibly rewarding to see the improvement, skill development, personal development, and the increase in confidence and teamwork in young athletes. From there, I opened which is a hockey skill development training center, and am, where we now live. After utilizing the AKHockey technology at Top Level, I became so impressed with their systems, that to expand and develop the franchise network and programs to support franchisees and athletes. AKHockey is the market-leader in hockey skating and skill development training for beginners to professional athletes, and has trained numerous NHL Pro Athletes and All Stars, including the projected #1 NHL Draft pick for 2023, Connor Bedard.
