About Darel Ross
I’m an entrepreneur, strategist, and ecosystem builder committed to expanding economic opportunity and helping people, places, and ideas reach their full potential. As Co-Director of Start Garden, I help lead one of West Michigan’s most visible platforms for entrepreneurship, working to connect founders with the capital, networks, and support they need to grow. My work sits at the intersection of innovation, inclusion, and economic development, with a focus on building systems that produce stronger outcomes for entrepreneurs and communities alike.I’m also the founder of Forty Acres Enterprises, a holding company that reflects my broader commitment to ownership, development, and long-term community wealth creation. Today, my work through Forty Acres is focused on consulting, real estate development, and strategic holdings. I advise on land use, zoning, and pre-development strategy, and I remain active in residential and mixed-use development as well as commercial and residential property ownership.Previously, I co-led LINC Up, where I helped secure more than $67 million for neighborhood revitalization, housing, workforce development, and economic opportunity initiatives.Whether through nonprofit leadership, real estate, or entrepreneurship, I’ve spent my career working to open doors, build institutions, and create practical pathways for growth.I’m always interested in connecting with others working in entrepreneurship, development, systems change, and community impact.
