About Darcy McCusker
My path from philosophy to data analysis to software engineering might seem winding, but it\'s fueled by a consistent drive to ask insightful questions and build meaningful solutions. My PhD honed my ability to dissect complex systems, while data analysis taught me to transform raw information into actionable insights. Now, I\'m channeling that experience into software engineering, where I can directly create the tools and technologies that answer the questions I pose.I thrive on coming up with new ideas and making plans; I really enjoy the challenge of turning abstract ideas into tangible products. My analytical background has equipped me to dissect problems from multiple angles, uncovering patterns and potential roadblocks. This translates perfectly into coding, where I get to craft efficient, elegant solutions. My experience with Python, JavaScript, and now Java equips me to tackle diverse technical challenges.I\'m deeply committed to leveraging technology for positive impact. My passion lies in building ethical, inclusive, and accessible software that empowers users and improves lives. While exploring new opportunities, I\'m still working on philosophical projects, including researching ethical collaborations in tech (the report on this project is forthcoming in The Journal of Responsible Innovation!) and writing on algorithmic bias in Google Scholar.
