At the Avon Education Foundation, I had the rewarding opportunity to contribute directly to the success of students and educators across the district. Joining the organization with just a few initial connections, I quickly built relationships from the ground up to better understand and serve our community.Key accomplishments and responsibilities included:Fundraising & Community Engagement: Developed and led both corporate and annual fundraising initiatives, overcoming the challenge of nearly 50% percentage of students on free/reduced lunch and a 16% multilingual population, requiring creative outreach and event translation services.Supply store for teachers: Managed a corporation store staffed by three work-study students, where students fulfilled and delivered supply orders to teachers at no cost to the teachers. The program supported both student work experience and classroom needs. Managing inventory with a low budget was a significant part of this segment.Grant Program Leadership: Served on the grants committee to review applications, select recipients, and present awards to teachers and administrators.Grant writing was equally important in this opportunity. With decreasing school budgets they turn to our organization more and more to fill the needs.This role was a blend of community building, operational management, and strategic fundraising—designed to support equitable access to education across a diverse student body.
