Dara L. Onofrio, Esq. has practiced law for over 25 years. Prior to beginning her law practice 20 years ago, Dara was a partner in another law firm.Dara\'s legal expertise is in the area of intellectual property, covering mainly patent and trademark matters as well as copyright protection. She represents screenwriters, authors, inventors, Fortune 100 companies, small businesses, and artists.She is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is also admitted to the New York and Connecticut state bars. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Southern, and Eastern District of New York and the Supreme Court of the United States of America.She obtained her law degree from Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University) in New York. She holds a B.S. degree, cum laude, in Chemistry from Southern Connecticut State University. Dara completed special science studies at Yale University and graduate studies in Molecular Biology at Cornell Medical School. Prior to beginning law school, Dara received a scholarship to study Art and Art History at the University of Urbino, Italy. While in law school, she spent a semester abroad to study international law at Cambridge University in England. She also worked as a research scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, in both the Developmental Genetics and Somatic Cell Genetics Departments.Dara is a member of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, New York City Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association and New York City Bar Association.Dara is an elected member of the Board of Finance in Clinton, Connecticut. She is a member of the Alumni Board of Directors for Southern Connecticut State University and is a member of the Yeshiva University OUTLAW Committee.
