About Dara Emami

Dara Emami is an Associate at Finnegan, one of the world’s leading intellectual property law firms, where he focuses on patent litigation and prosecution. With a strong foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering, he develops strategic legal solutions for clients in industries such as manufacturing, robotics, and autonomous vehicles.He earned his J.D. from William & Mary Law School and currently serves as a lecturer for the Patent Practice and Procedure course at Howard University School of Law, guiding a class of approximately twenty-five students. His dedication to pro bono service is demonstrated through his work supporting veterans by assisting them with legal challenges.Before entering the legal field, Dara worked as a mechanical engineer and project manager in the shipbuilding industry, where he led cutting-edge initiatives in additive manufacturing and unmanned systems.Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, rock climbing, playing volleyball, and running.
