   In this role I work closely with teammates of the General Motors US Indirect Tax Team. As the main support to assist tax analysts, I open and distribute the mail to the entire tax staff in different departments. I prepare deposits for checks that have been received in the mail that relate to department taxes, including the Indirect Team and the Domestic Tax Team, in compliance to GM’s procedures. Additionally, I do monthly tax compliance wires based on calculated estimates for GM’s many entities. I do weekly wires for GM’s property tax compliance to our property tax servicer. I track refunds and payments using excel logs. I compile monthly motor fuel usage for each plant and organize information to be used in state and federal monthly, quarterly, and yearly motor fuel returns. I provide support as needed for projects for the US Indirect Tax Staff, including filling out business licenses, compiling information for audits, keeping track of property tax information for our self-assessments including exemptions and abatements, and more. I create non-P.O. check requests using SAP software. In this role I’ve gained knowledge of usage of SAP, Sharepoint, Outlook, Excel, and Access.
