Lead William Hill’s automation team from a technical and architectural point of view, improving efficiency and reducing costs by removing the need for humans to carry out boring and repetitive tasks. • Designed and managed the deployment of a central metadata service, allowing all teams to understand and report on their IT systems in a way never available in the past. • Managed conversations with numerous areas of the business about their automation needs, designed corresponding solution patterns, and managed the deployment of each. • Oversaw the uptake of Robotic Process Automation and designed the infrastructure required to run the UIPath platform. • Developed a wiki to help the automation team’s customers understand how they can be helped, and the ways in which the services function. • Designed integration patterns for a number of isolated services including RunDeck, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, UIPath and Atlassian Jira, along with a number of AWS services. • Harvested an honest and friendly atmosphere in the team, and maintained constant contact with each team member, ensuring that they feel happy and confident in their role. • Assisted MrGreen, recently acquired by William Hill, with a number of design challenges. • FinOps.
