About Dan Torpey
I currently serve on the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee Chair of MDB Capital Holdings Group, a Public Venture company. Over the past 30 years, I\'ve been fortunate to building a career that spans finance, risk management, information technology, culture, and transformational leadership across some pretty exciting challenges. As a retired Big Four partner, I have enjoyed leading several national practices and worked alongside teams serving more than a third of the Fortune 500. From crisis management during natural disasters to complex investigations and corporate compliance matters, I\'ve seen organizations, and people, at their most vulnerable moments—and through team work, helped them emerge stronger. I\'ve presented findings to everyone from corporate boards to government regulators, arbitrators, and private equity investors, and while many think it\'s all about the numbers, I have always considered the impact on people. What I find most rewarding is building teams to help move projects and initiatives forward. Building teams always comes down to building up people. In the disputes, investigations and compliance space, I\'ve co-authored several books and publications on business interruption, investigations, and disputes, and I have been honored to share my insights at international conferences in Europe, Asia and the US. You might have seen my work in publications like Fraud Magazine, Business Insurance, National Underwriter, Claims Magazine, Risk & Insurance, Internal Auditor, or being interviewed by The Los Angeles Times or Dallas Morning News. I\'m often invited to speak about leadership and culture at places like Cornell University, St. John\'s University, TCU, Benedictine College, the FBI Academy, and various Fortune 500 companies. My favorite topics include how companies can avoid ethical downfall, building and enhance corporate culture and war stories of mentoring, investigating, and building teams that last. Beyond the professional realm, I\'ve served on several nonprofit boards, including the US Olympic & Paralympic Weightlifting, the American Tinnitus Association, AICPA, and Young Catholic Professionals.
