ABOUT DANIEL THOMAS

Hi! I\'m Dan, a Graduate Safety & Risk Engineer at Worley in the London Offices During my Graduate Development Program: •Safety Engineering; Within my department, I have been exposed to multiple projects currently in progress at the same time, aiding in Safety Reviews such as HAZIDs and HAZOPs as a scribe as well as providing detailed models of dispersion clouds and explosions for hydrogen projects •Sustainability Projects; I have been involved in varying projects with the energy transition and the importance of sustainable solutions being emphasised throughout the design process •Voluntary Committees; Currently I am an active member in the Worley Graduate Connect Committee in the UK, organising social events for the Graduates in London as well as promoting Worley at University Career Fairs. Additionally, I am a member of the STEM group, which promotes STEM subjects within local schools, and the Worley Events and Socials Team (WEST) My Aspirations: • Renewables and New Power; I want to develop my skills and expand my knowledge within the energy sector, more specifically focusing on projects involving renewable energy sources and new power solutions. • Process Engineering and Process Safety; I aim to continue my grad scheme within technical safety and risk engineering and to use the experience I have gained from it as my foundation for moving into Process Engineering or Process Safety. I believe that understanding the principles of inherently safer design and safety methodologies are essential for becoming an effective process engineer. I also aim to become chartered with IChemE as a Process Engineer • Project Management; From 2024, I will be an associate member of the Association of Project Management (APM). I want to learn the fundamentals and gain qualifications in Project management to aid in my career in Process Engineering and Process Safety. Qualifications within Project Management may prove beneficial if I ever move into managing my own projects within the energy industry. My Personal Interests: Music, Languages, Sports, Film Photography
