About Dante Decesare
My parents instilled in me these words;\"If you\'re going to do something, do it right.\" This idea is something that I bring with me every day to the workplace. If I don\'t know how to do something, I learn it. If i can\'t learn it, I ask a colleague for help. If no one in my immediate environment knows, I network. To me, these steps are crucial so that I may bring the best out of myself, our team, and our organization.I began my professional journey in higher education as a freshman at the University of Connecticut in 2017. Now, I know you may be asking yourself,\"How was he a professional before graduating?\" To that I say that I got involved in different experiences that shaped my future. One of such experiences occurred as a result of my First Year Experience (FYE) course. Late in my first semester, my instructor asked my to stay after class to chat. She told me she thought i would be a good fit for the peer mentor position that the FYE department had opened applications for. I always loved meeting new people and helping others succeed, so I decided to give it a shot. This point is where my higher ed story begins.Fast forward to today, and I am currently pursuing my Master\'s in Higher Education Administration at the University of Miami. I am excited to graduate in December and begin helping students discover their passion that will set the course for a successful career and fulfilling life.Feel free to reach out to me if you would like to talk higher ed, New York sports (HUGE Giants fan), or life in general.
