ABOUT DANTE KING

Dante King, a San Francisco native, authored The 400-Year Holocaust: White America\'s Legal, Psychopathic, and Sociopathic Black Genocide and the Revolt Against Critical Race Theory. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and guest faculty at UCSF. Dante lectures on race, racism, and legality, and serves as an expert legal witness (People v. Finley, 2023). Dante collaborated with the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to develop the City’s Racial Equity Ordinance, leading to the Office of Racial Equity. As Deputy Director for the Department of Public Health\'s Office of Health Equity, he implemented the Racial Equity Action Plan, several antiracism policies, and the Antiracism and Racial Equity Leaders Fellowship. At SFMTA, he created the Racial Equity Action Plan and citywide anti-racism training, training over employees, including the SFPD. His feedback on anti-Black bias in the SFPD led to departmental changes. Dante founded the Black Employees Alliance (B.E.A) to address racial disparities in employment. The B.E.A\'s advocacy influenced the appointment of Dr. William Gould IV to investigate city employment practices. He teaches courses at Stanford Medical School, Johns Hopkins, UCSF, and the Mayo Clinic. Dante developed courses on racism and antiracism leadership, collaborating with Dr. Robin DiAngelo on the Unlearning Anti-Blackness, White Supremacy, and Racism in American Culture and Institutions Leaders Fellowship. He has keynoted and presented at conferences such as the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education, the American Public Health Association, and the White Privilege Conference. In 2022, Dante was featured in the San Francisco Sun Reporter’s Special Edition of the Talented 25 and has appeared on various media outlets. He received the 1st Place Bookfest Award for The 400-Year Holocaust and the Dr. Huey P. Newton Trailblazer and Legacy Award. His second publication, The 400-Year Holocaust: Toolkit and Workbook, focuses on organizational change and antiracism leadership. He is writing his third book, Diagnosing Whiteness. He is the Executive Director of Blackademics: Addressing Anti-Blackness Around the World, LLC, and a board member for the B.H. Brilliant Minds Project. He has served on the board of the Sexual Minority Alliance of Alameda County (SMAAC) Youth Center, focusing on underserved Black LGBTQ+ youth. He has been involved with The Village, a prison outreach program, donating over $100k in resources and helping inmates with early parole releases.
