Why? Because He loves each of us just as much as He loves Himself - so He had to destroy sin and it’s power over us making it possible for us to join Him in heaven! He took our entire sin “bill” and completely paid it off so we could enter heaven to join Him and all others who also love God and will forever be free of all sin, death, and its consequences.
