ABOUT DANOOSH CHAMANI

As a Data Scientist at Scotiabank, I develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance the bank\'s security and compliance. I leverage PySpark, machine learning, and large language models (LLM) to conduct comprehensive analysis, feature engineering, and modeling on a database of millions of customers.Some of my key achievements include spearheading the implementation of prompt engineering techniques to optimize demographic data, developing and delivering a PySpark-powered keyword fuzzy matching algorithm that reduced query time by 10x, and devising and executing a scoring mechanism that uncovered tens of previously undetected suspicious accounts. I am passionate about using data science to solve real-world problems and create positive impact.I hold a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University, where I also worked as a Research Assistant for two years. During my studies, I collaborated closely with Health Canada and trained language models and developed a web application that streamlined and automated decision-making processes within inspection procedures. I also received multiple scholarships and awards for my academic excellence and research contributions. I am passionate about continuously learning new skills and technologies, expanding my expertise in machine learning techniques, generating innovative ideas, and sharing my experiences with others, and I always strive for feedback from others to improve my thinking process.I also compose music!
