I specialize in creating understandable public processes that respect the community, build consensus, and yield supportable results. I’ve led culture change projects at the national and state level and reframed the organizational focus of complex public agencies. I’ve worked with the AASHTO, National Academies of Sciences, Transportation Research Board, and states large and small to reorient practices to put citizens first, increase transparency and responsiveness, and embrace technology to facilitate positive civic interaction.Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, I served as a public affairs specialist for the Mid-America Regional Council, one of the nation’s leading metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), where I designed public engagement campaigns for a variety of planning processes. I also served as communications director for Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, Mayor Sly James and the City of Kansas City, Missouri, working to successfully secure over a billion dollars in public investment.At Burns & McDonnell, we have one mission in mind: to make our clients successful.
