ABOUT DANNY ROBINSON

I’m a technology entrepreneur with a passion for creating innovations that make our lives and the world a better place. My journey began architecting large-scale Microsoft networks for Fortune 500 companies. Those early days in traditional networking and the Internet were the perfect foundation for the work I do now - building flexible, scalable, cloud-based systems that push the boundaries of connectivity and resilience.Today, I am currently developing grid-edge technology that networks batteries together to reduce grid congestion and ultimately, help communities achieve energy independence. I have had this ambitious vision for over a decade but the need has never been greater than it is now. Previously, I held executive roles at IQMetrix, a leader in the North American wireless industry, and co-founded Bootup Labs, Canada’s first seed accelerator. Through Bootup Labs, I had the privilege of identifying and investing in several promising Internet entrepreneurs from around the world and startups including Summify (acquired by Twitter), Layerboom (acquired by Joyent), and Contractually (acquired by Coupa). I’ve also had the opportunity to co-found other ventures with talented people, including Strutta, a social marketing platform (acquired in 2014), Peerflix, a peer-to-peer DVD trading network, and Spinway, a private-label ISP that quickly grew to over 8 million users through strategic distribution partnerships with some of the biggest consumer brands in the world including Costco, Barnes & Noble, Kmart, Home Depot & Capital One.Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with my family at our off-grid cabin on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, or advising the next generation of tech entrepreneurs. I believe in the power of technology to save lives, create peace, and heal our planet—and I\'m always excited to connect with others who feel the same.
