Before, a BIG reason home buyers and sellers needed an agent was because the agent was the source of listing information. With the dawn of the information age people no longer needed an agent for listing information since homes for sale can easily be looked up online by anyone! Today a real estate agent is heavily relied upon to interpret all of the data and help their clients by giving them options when a buying or selling decision needs to be made.
