   This past May, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Economics and a Minor in Business Finance, focusing on game theory and bidding systems. I now bring that background to my role as Financial Analyst and Business Development Associate at Tiscareno Associates, the Seattle-based architecture firm founded by my father, Robert Tiscareno.Winning architectural projects and setting the right fee structure is rarely straightforward—it’s a complex game theory problem. Known variables include interest rates, construction and labor costs, and our historical data on comparable projects. Unknown variables include the client’s budget range, the number of firms competing, and how our competitors will bid. This is where my training in economics and finance adds value: analyzing and forecasting these moving parts so that Tiscareno Architects bids efficiently, wins projects, and maximizes profitability.Of course, before the numbers matter, we have to be in the right conversations. I also support our business development by reaching out to brokers, developers, and past contacts to ensure Tiscareno Associates is always positioned as one of the top architectural partners in the Seattle market. With our firm’s unbeatable design quality, competitive pricing, and focus on client service, that part of my job is made much easier.Most of all, I’m proud to contribute to a company that means so much to me personally.
