I am a managing director in PwC\'s Financial Markets & Real Estate team - Portfolio Valuations practice. I provide clients with advice regarding valuation matters related to estimating the fair value of interests in private portfolio companies. I have been performing valuations for financial reporting and tax purposes since 2002. I currently work with many private equity, venture capital, and corporate venture entities to estimate fair values and/or to enhance the process for determining fair value. Discussions with clients increasingly include consideration of value drivers, data limitations, policy and governance considerations for a consistent approach across a portfolio, and the opportunity for technology to increase efficiencies in the process and deliver impactful reporting on the backend. In addition to delivering client services, I provide operational oversight for our team in terms of resourcing and process and policy enhancements. I started my valuation career in New York with PwC\'s Deals practice. I seized an opportunity to go on secondment to PwC\'s UK valuation practice from 2008 - 10 working on the CIPS industry team. During my time in the UK I provided clients with various valuation services including: distressed company valuation, transaction work, tax valuation and financial reporting valuation services. Additionally, I spent time in the Middle East (specifically Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain) assisting clients including sovereign wealth funds with financial reporting valuation matters.
