About Danny Hundert

My professional journey began when everyone told me implementing my vision for a summer camp based in Aspen was impossible given dozens had previously tried before me and failed. This dismissiveness helped fuel my drive to found Ajax Adventure Camp in 2010. From 50 kids in year-one to over 500 by year-three, our team created one of the greatest experiences for children in Colorado and sent me on a path to create further impact for youth recreation and tangentially into education. In 2014, friends in China convinced me that the \"obvious\" expansion path from Aspen, Colorado was to China. My essay into Wharton literally said I was going to build an international summer camp organization starting with Shanghai, China. The admissions officers miraculously believed me - but even more incredible - after two years of building the business at Wharton, I actually did precisely what I said I would do in the admission essay. We launched Ivy Camps in 2016 with over 750 Chinese participants and over 100 employees. By year three we had thousands of student participants and hundreds of employees. As we expanded in-person operations to 4 additional countries, we launched our year-round online supplemental education products. This enabled Ivy Camps to become a global leader in both after-school education as well as holiday camps. Programming and curriculum continues to be designed by those from the top US Universities. Our live-online and in-person services are also taught by the top US University students; whereby we are delivering mentorship, education, and global connections, while still retaining our fun camp roots. At Ivy Camps USA, I work with the greatest team to change the K-12 educational paradigm and help children learn and succeed in a modern era. Our mission is to empower children to improve humanity. In order to do this we want to connect kids around the world, teach them hard skills, soft skills, and help them understand the no matter one\'s background, people are people and we can learn to live peacefully with one another. Furthermore, I take great pride if we help a child, or one of our employees for that matter, discover their passions and help ignite their path to a fulfilling life. Now, if we can accomplish all of the above while every child enjoys their experience with us and has tons of fun, then I can sit back and smile. Then we have done it.
