ABOUT DANNY HAIRSTON
With over 25 years in youth development and a focus on snowboarding for the past 15 years, I\'ve dedicated my career to creating and leading board sports-based programs for young people. As the founder of the SHRED Foundation, I\'ve built an organization that leverages the transformative power of snowboarding to empower youth, emphasizing diversity and equity in the sport and its industry. My roles have included Fundraising and Event Coordinator for Burton Snowboards\' Chill Foundation, Senior Program Manager at Stoked Mentoring, and Program Director at Hoods to Woods. My passion for snowboarding and youth development has led to features in The Snowboarders Journal and appearances on the Black News Channel’s “AMplified with Aisha Mills.” I\'m also a regular speaker at the Snowbound Expo in Boston and have participated as a panelist at Burton Snowboards\'\"Culture Shifters\" event at Aspen Snowmass. Beyond snowboarding, I am a Fellow with the Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress, focusing on regional economic development. I hold a degree in Public Administration from New York University. Through SHRED, I strive to provide life-changing opportunities and a supportive community for young snowboarders, nurturing their growth both on and off the slopes.
