ABOUT DANNO PETERS
Engineering and Computer Science graduate and with interests and experience with Aviation, Robotics, Remote Sensing, Virtual Reality, Embed Systems, and Data Visualization. I have experience working with LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS/UAVs/Drones), and multi-spectral imaging (Thermal/InfraRed/Ultraviolet) in the geomatics industry, as well as engineering, consulting having worked as a LiDAR operator, UAV Operator, and an Engineering Intern. From serving on the UofS Space Design Team I gained experience with team programming, electronics design and manufacturing, rapid prototyping, finite element analysis (in both the Solidworks and Altair suites), composites manufacturing, and computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM). I am currently working on the integration of the University of Saskatchewan\'s first radio telescope, a dual-frequency digital telescope constructed from a Cold War Radar Dish. At the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum I am helping restore historic aircraft cockpits to be interactive flight simulators, and working on an augmented reality display. Additionally, I am building a FLARM aircraft tracking ground station for the Saskatoon Soaring Club; and creating an interactive digital flight training platform for Mitchinson Flight Centre. I am interested in aerospace, research and development, radio frequency (RF) communication, remote sensing, radar, and automation. I am always interested in learning about new projects and volunteer opportunities.
