ABOUT DANITA R. POTTER

Dr. Potter is an accomplished educator, clinician, visionary leader, and professor of nursing. Dr. Potter has led in higher education for 25 plus years and successfully managed pre-nursing and allied health sciences,BSN, BA-HS, Two- Year Allied Health Degree (across 9 campuses with 12 AH) programs, RN-BS, MSN (FNP, PNP, PMHNP-BC & Educator), DNP & PHD programs. Dr. Potter is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and former CEO of Reframing for Life LLC. Dr. Potter have helped many students from diverse backgrounds and various countries earn their nursing degrees and advanced nursing degrees. Dr. Potter successfully coached and mentored senior level students with achieving success on their exit exams by providing them specific NCLEX preparation. Many of her students have gone on to earn their masters and doctorates in nursing. She has worked an instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, program director, chief nursing administrator/associate dean, Dean of Nursing and Allied Health and professor of nursing in higher education. She has been blessed to have been nominated by her peers and was awarded Endowed Professorships, The CAMEO AKA Medical Award, International Global Health Mentor at STTI, National Reviewer at AACN, Minority Faculty Scholar Reviewer, and recommended for tenure at ULS Universities, named AACN-Johnson and Johnson Minority Nurse Faculty Scholar, nominated as LSNA Nightingale Award, Honored as one of the Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana to name a few. Dr. Potter was recently named to the International STTI\'s Global Leadership Mentoring Community which oversees and prepares the next Nurse Leader Cohorts from around the World including Hong Kong. Currently, she is working as an ANCC board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner seeing patients across the lifespan, and she has spearheading the opening of an Autism Center in north Louisiana after she gained additional training as a certified autism specialist (CAS). Her work in higher education has led to earning national nursing accreditation at two HBCUs and Minority institutions for graduate nursing and undergraduate nursing programs. Recognized expertise in national nurse accreditation reviewer. In Dr. Potter\'s spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading and contributing back to nursing and healthcare via publishing and presenting scholarly work. She is happily married to Mr. Dexter Potter of 30 years. They have four (Dakena, Danielle, Doc, & Dominique) very bright children and three smart & beautiful grand babies, Chelsea-Kylie-Kelanna.
