WORK HISTORY
Product Design Architect, Athenaclinicals @athenahealth
Watertown, MA, US
Using my experience in design research and strategy to help athenaClinicals unpack some of its most gnarly product design problems and figure out what to do about them- Working with teams across the organization to align on end-to-end workflow needs to improve our Ambulatory Surgical Center product. This work will inform investment priorities and help create a seamless experience for clinic-adjacent surgery centers on athenaOne- Provided research and design strategy to help teams create a best-in-class Ambient Notes experience, testing and iterating towards a wildly successful Alpha. One designer called me a \"Rocket Booster for the Team.\"- Worked across subdivisions including Clinical Content, Coaching and Training, Platform, and Product to define what \"Gold Standard\" for athenaClinicals looks like. Conducted research to help inform various aspects of our Specialty model, including Women\'s Health, Behavioral Health, Orthopedics and ASC- Conducted discovery research with EHR admins to help organization better understand the relationship between configurable features and the adoption process. The resulting research helped teams across the org better understand the \"athena person\" at clients\' organizations, and helped to influence both the creation of configuration experiences and our release materials- Consistently play \"work auntie\" and serve as a SME across various initiatives, coaching designers and providing expertise in the various domains I get to dive into.

ABOUT DANI NORDIN
Experienced Product Design leader and professional pot-stirrer who specializes in breaking down massive, complex problems and helping product teams figure out what to do about them. Currently serving as the Product Design Architect for our Clinicals EHR product, driving discovery and influencing roadmaps for major new product initiatives. I\'ve also served as a UX Zone Lead in both Clinicals and Collector, where I mentored and managed scrum designers and drove design strategy across a dynamic set of business problems in billing and clinical ordering workflows.Prior to Athenahealth, I was Director of UX, Digital at Pegasystems, where I worked with people across the organization to oversee and unify the experience across an ecosystem of global web properties. During my 2.5 years at Pega, I grew a UX team from a single person to 6+ UX and UI professionals. I also helped shepherd a number of important initiatives, including the creation of our Digital Design System, the rebrand of both Pega.com and the Pega Community site, and the creation of a unified SSO and registration product to serve Pega’s digital ecosystem. In my former life, I ran my own design and web business (the zen kitchen), and used what I learned there to write several books, including \"Drupal for Designers,\"\"Planning and Managing Drupal Projects,\" and \"Drupal Development Tricks for Designers\"(O\'Reilly) and \"Definitive Guide to Drupal 7\"(Apress). In 2015, I completed several video series on UX, Designing with Empathy, and introductory Drupal for both O\'Reilly and Skillsoft International.
