Apero is a team of freelance developers, designers and project managers, of all types, working together on bigger, more complex, projects while remaining flexible and focused on our clients\' needs. My role within Apero also remains flexible but my passion will always be to architect and code.I manage web application development projects for a variety of agencies and clients like the Television Academy, Emmys, Enphase Energy, Paul Gaugin Cruises and Rapid Media.In 2020 I built a Google Big Data integration between multiple vendors with hundreds of analytics sources and a single interactive dashboard with custom reports. It normalized data from Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Instagram and Google Analytics into a single database that could be queried for campaign-specific results.In 2018 I built a voting system, hosted on AWS, that could scale to securely process and encrypt ballots for thousands of concurrent users.In 2015 I built a Drupal site to handle millions of users per day with multiple levels of caching in Varnish and Akamai.I built a community-driven paddling trip management system. Users contribute their trips, mapping points and media.In 2015 I built a shopify integration to a course management system.

I’m Daniel Washbrook, a Canadian solution-architect and app developer.I am passionate about exploring technology to find better ways to solve problems and developing mobile applications that make the world a better place.The tools I use are generally technology agnostic. I enjoy building applications in PHP with Laravel and in Python with Django. I build CMS sites in Drupal, Wordpress and SilverStripe. And I work on front end projects with VueJS, React, and straight Javascript. I like implementing automated testing frameworks, responsive designs and I do my work primarily on Linux.With a human-focused approach to architecture and development, I simplify technical aspects and turn client issues into client decisions. I love to hear about how technology is solving and shaping our business world.
