As DataOps Lead, serving as Snowflake solution architect, sysadmin, data-engineering scrum master, and scrum participant. Oversaw platform training for three such teams. Introduced streamlined DataOps provisioning within Snowflake, dbt cloud, Datafold, and FiveTran environments, Okta single csign-on for diverse user groups, dynamic data-masking of PII on ingest, and own the compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, SOX, SOC2, and ISO97001, standards. Extended Snowflake’s best-practice guidance for role-based access control hierarchies to support federated enterprise self-service analytics for a handful of business analytics and data science teams new to Snowflake and dbt. Technical leadership on strategic project migrating Oracle data warehouse to Snowflake for reporting revenue to Wall Street resulted in high customer sat. Along the way, earned Snowflake SnowPro Core certification. With Snowflake and DBT Cloud, designed and implemented data-engineering service layers to support flexible de-centralization of work, by central DataOps Engineers vs. business-analytics and data science teams, including data ingest, curation, data-wrangling / data-preparation, and finally visualization/reporting, depending on needs and skills of various analytics teams, provisioning each team up from the beginning with development and deployment environments in Snowflake, DBT Cloud, GitHub code-deployment controls, and FiveTran, and implemented Datafold SaaS for column-level data lineage, data glossary, and automated data-diff to validate GitHub pull requests (code deployments). Minimizing Snowflake spending by architecting right-sized, task-specific virtual-warehouses (compute), then built Tableau ‘Snowflake Spend Analytics’ workbook for discovery of cost-saving opportunities or enablement of departmental-usage charge-back.
