In my role as a Credit Analyst Intern at AgWest Farm Credit, I’m gaining hands-on experience in agricultural lending and credit risk analysis within a cooperative that supports farmers, ranchers, and rural communities across the Western U.S. My key responsibilities include:* Gathering and evaluating financial and business information to assess creditworthiness and support sound lending decisions* Analyzing financial statements, tax records, and pro forma reports to prepare credit analyses and recommendations for management* Conducting in-person farm visits and collateral inspections to document and evaluate loan collateral conditions* Collaborating with relationship managers and cross-functional teams to support customer relationships and assist in loan closings* Researching agricultural loan products and industry trends to identify opportunities and contribute to customer education initiatives* Assisting with credit investigations including public record searches, credit bureau reports, and verification of employment and assetsI’m passionate about developing expertise that supports the growth and sustainability of agriculture and rural communities.
