Currently working on tools to facilitate software debugging and mapping usage dependencies • Reverse engineered a Trusted Platform Management chip\'s SDK to process cryptographic data structures to extract keys and certificates for validation using OpenSSL\'s API. • Joined F5\'s Platform Security team to examine and evangelize safe software development processes. • Performed threat model assessments on new F5 features to ensure secure design of new features. • Researched and examined various major software vulnerabilities in order to better understand how various exploits happened. • Provided assistance to facilitate security testing for outside certification. • Maintained F5 BIG-IP SOAP interface from helping to designing to acting as a gatekeeper for dozens of new interfaces each release cycle. • Helped implement a Python interface to communicate between Cisco’s ACI infrastructure and the BIG-IP and succeeded in delivering it to the market before our competitors. • Fixed a bug in Expat library regarding a misdocumented API enum and provided an upstream patch. • Learned and implemented CSRF protections including randomizing session values, options for session enforcement, and implementing restricted authentication tokens. • Implemented support for ICSA Firewall standards on the data plane. • Helped implement configuration logic for various components from logging configuration to Webacceleration features to Content Policy Management. • Implemented a logging daemon to run with BIG-IP startup scripts and serve as a central logging location. • Gained experience in how configuration design helps or hurts implementation by various interfaces. • Gained experience in nailing down how legacy components work from reading source code. • Gained experience in understanding the nature of security vulnerabilities, how to classify them, and how to implement solutions, either by patching or wholesale design changes.
