ABOUT DANIELLE TAKACS

Danielle has experience in the non-profit, media and government sectors. As a result, she understands the art of politics, the consultation process and how policy is implemented. She has assisted in seeing bills implemented and refined, and laws improved. She has advocated on behalf of companies and associations to see that their priorities and concerns are effectively conveyed to government decision makers, as well as among stakeholders and segments of the community. Danielle enjoys participating in political discourse and sharing career experiences – be it via television, conferences or debates. She has been a guest for CTV, CityTV and appeared on RogersTV weekly to discuss provincial and federal politics. In the past she has served as a TV reporter and debate moderator. Danielle is an acclaimed writer, having won three national blogging awards for her writing on Canadian politics, and she has contributed as an author and researcher to several published academic papers. She has contributed towards focus groups, survey design and columns for daily newspapers, including the Toronto Star. Professionally, Danielle has experience working within municipal, provincial and federal government. At 25 she was approached to be an appointed candidate for campaign run, but instead grasped the opportunity to be a part of a national campaign tour team. She later ran on her own terms in 2015 & 2019 with impressive results.Danielle is dedicate to helping women, new Canadians and young people. Other areas of motivation are fostering Indigenous relations and agricultural appreciation. Her encouragement of young women to gain the hard and soft skills they’ll need for leadership roles in work and/or communities has led to Danielle’s support and involvement with Equal Voice and various mentorship programs. She is currently the senior manager of policy and advocacy for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Previous roles include manager of government relations for TD Bank Group focusing on D&I (including HR, women in leadership, accessibility/PWD and combatting racism), serving as the inaugural Public Relations/Communications Coordinator for Kiwanis Clubs if Eastern Canada, and as President of the Canadian Club of Ottawa encouraging national dialogues.
