The Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is a self-supporting public non-profit organization that works with communities to create innovative policy and financing solutions that provide affordable homes and better lives to the people of Massachusetts. MHP uses funds from the banking industry to provide long-term loans for affordable rental housing. Since 1990, MHP has provided over $1 billion in loans and commitments that has financed over units of multifamily rental housing. Additionally, MHP advises local communities on how to build affordable housing through providing technical assistance on various federal, state, and local subsidies and programs. MHP\'s first-time homebuyer programs - formerly SoftSecond and now ONE Mortgage - have leveraged over $4 billion in private financing to help over 18,600 low- and moderate-income families purchase their first home.
