I work as a Team Lead for Cyfle Cymru - Kaleidsoscope.Cyfle Cymru is a Peer Mentoring project which helps people develop confidence to makepositive life changes, and provides support to access training, education, volunteering andemployment. Our peer mentors draw on their own lived experience to support peopleaffected by substance use and/or mental health conditions. Cyfle Cymru will supportpeople aged 16 to 24 (Not in education, employment or training) and those 25+ that areeconomically inactive or long term unemployed.

ABOUT DANIELLE J.
I’m a passionate, purpose-driven changemaker with lived experience at the heart of everything I do. After overcoming two decades of addiction and involvement in the criminal justice system, I’ve rebuilt my life and dedicated my career to supporting others to do the same.I’m currently the Founder and Managing Director of The EmpowHER Project CIC, a trauma-informed, psychologically informed women’s centre that I’m building from the ground up. EmpowHER exists to empower women who’ve experienced adversity to reclaim their voice, rebuild their lives, and rise together. We’re creating a safe, healing space in Cardiff offering structured empowerment programmes, holistic therapies, peer mentoring, and community support—all led by lived experience.Alongside this, I’m the Team Lead for Cyfle Cymru Cardiff and the Vale, supporting people affected by mental health or substance use into training, volunteering, and employment through peer-led support.From speaking in the Senedd and House of Lords to co-designing policy and mentoring women into employment, my journey has taken me from survival to leadership—and I use my platform to challenge stigma, influence systems, and advocate for meaningful change.I believe in the power of lived experience. Not just as a story of what we’ve been through—but as a tool to create something better.
