ABOUT DANIELLE HINTON

Senior Fellow of the HEA with over 25 years’ experience transforming blended, online, and distance learning across UK Higher Education. I specialise in inclusive curriculum design, digital pedagogy, reflective practice, academic identity, and SoTL. My work spans HE instructional design, curriculum design, PGCHE provision, teaching professional recognition routes, and funded educational enhancement projects. My USP lies in connecting people, scholarship, and practice to enrich teaching across Higher Education.Creator of the 9 Situational Lens Model, I advocate for playful, research‑informed, and emotionally grounded approaches to learning and teaching. I am committed to supporting colleagues who teach and support learning—helping them build confidence, strengthen reflective practice, and develop evidence‑informed approaches that enhance the student experience. My practice is rooted in evidence-based SoTL, academic identity, and the emotional dimensions of learning and teaching.Professional Recognition- Senior Fellow, HEA (SFHEA, 2016)- Fellow, HEA (FHEA, 2012)- College of Social Sciences Educational Enhancement Fellow (2010–12)I have designed, led, and contributed to modules and programmes across PGCHE, PCAP, MOOCs, and CPD schemes, including distance-learning pathways and professional recognition routes. My teaching and leadership experience includes curriculum / learning design, digital pedagogy, problem‑based learning, online facilitation, and UKPSF‑aligned developmental support.My sector impact is rooted in a commitment to accessible scholarship and community‑driven pedagogic development. As an External Examiner, I support quality enhancement and professional recognition across institutions. Through my long‑standing involvement in #LTHEchat, I contribute to national conversations around teaching practice. My widely shared collections of learning design models and frameworks, alongside the HEFi Highlight Scholarship Twitter series, provided educators with curated, practical entry points into SoTL and learning design.
